Thursday, September 29

CANCELED:

  • SHS JV Football vs. Screven County
  • COMPASSION CHRISTIAN CHURCH: All buildings and campuses closed Thursday and Friday. All groups, rehearsals, and activities that meet in one of the buildings canceled.
  • AVERITT CENTER FOR THE ARTS: No after-school programs.
  • GEORGIA SOUTHERN MUSEUM: Closing at 1pm on Thursday.
  • STATESBORO BULLOCH COUNTY LIBRARY: Closing at noon Thursday.
  • FIRST BAPTIST WEEKDAY PRESCHOOL: Closed Thursday.
  • SFUMC PRESCHOOL: Closed Thursday.
  • BULLOCH COUNTY RECREATION AND PARKS: No athletic activities from Thursday, September 29th through Saturday, October 1st due to Hurricane Ian. This will include all field rentals, football, soccer, and cheerleading.
  • SPLASH IN THE BORO: Closing at 1pm Thursday.

MOVED/POSTPONED:

Southeast Bulloch Homecoming

  • Homecoming Parade will be on Tuesday, Sept. 27 at 6:30 p.m. at Downtown Brooklet.
  • Powder Puff Football Game will be on Tuesday, Sept. 27 at 7:30 p.m. on Fred Shaver Field at SEBHS.
  • Homecoming Pep Rally will be on Wednesday, Sept. 28 beginning at 3:00 p.m.
  • Homecoming Varsity Football Game will be on Wednesday, Sept. 28 at 7:00 p.m.

Portal Middle High School Homecoming

  • Portal's varsity football game on Friday, Sept. 30, with the Georgia School for Innovation and the Classics (GSIC) has been cancelled by GSIC.  The school did not have enough players on the roster to play the game due to unforeseen injuries.
  • The Homecoming Pep Rally has been moved to Friday, October 7, at 2:15 p.m., in the PMHS Gym. The homecoming king will be crowned at this event.  
  • The announcement of the homecoming queen and court has been moved to Friday, October 7, during halftime of the varsity football game with Montgomery County that begins at 7:30 p.m., at PMHS
  • PMHS JV and Varsity Softball Games vs. McIntosh County | New Date: TBD
  • PMHS's middle school football game with Pinewood has been moved to Wednesday, Sept. 28, at 5 p.m.

Statesboro High School

  • Varsity football has a bi-week
  • Junior varsity football's game with Screven County on Thursday, Sept. 29, has been cancelled by Screven County
  • A decision about the softball game with Jenkins County High School is pending
  • A decision about the volleyball matches with Forsyth Central and Effingham County are pending

Statesboro Bulloch County Library

  • How to Preserve Old Photographs & Documents Class | New Date: Tuesday, Oct. 4th at 2pm
