All of Bulloch County Schools’ offices and schools will be closed on Friday, Oct. 12, for all faculty, staff, and students due to damage and power outages caused by Hurricane Michael. The school system’s main transportation hub and data center which services all schools sustained damage, and its power will not be restored for Friday operations to be possible. We also have some schools without power.
Portal Middle High School’s and Statesboro High School’s varsity football games, which are away, will proceed as scheduled on Friday.
The school system will make a decision at the November Board of Education meeting if these missed days will have to be made up. If approved, the days will be made up on Dec. 20-21, which are the severe weather days that were identified in the 2018-2019 school calendar.
Bulloch County Schools will also be on fall break Oct. 15 – Oct. 19, as scheduled. The district’s Central Office will be open during fall break.
