My Heart Doctor in Statesboro is welcoming area native and Georgia Southern University graduate Dr. David Lariscy, MD, to their team and is now accepting new patients.

Dr. Lariscy was born in Sylvania and then moved to Vidalia, where he lived until his family returned to Sylvania when he was 16.

He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, with a specialty in Cardiology and Cardiovascular Diseases. He began his journey into the medical field right here in Statesboro, GA, where he received his undergraduate degree in Chemistry at Georgia Southern University. He received his master’s degree in Biomedical Science at Barry University in Miami, FL, and then attended medical school at Ross University School of Medicine, Barbados, where he graduated with Highest Honors.

Dr. Lariscy has been working with Dr. Griffith and the team at My Heart Doctor part time for a couple of years and is excited about joining their team full time.

"Dr. Griffith is a highly respected Cardiologist who is well known and respected not only in the area but throughout the medical industry," said Dr. David Lariscy.  "He has a heart for reaching rural communities with world class cardiac care."

A mechanic and builder at heart, it was a work-related injury that brought Dr. Lariscy to medicine. After high school, Dr. Lariscy worked loading trucks at the former T.J. Morris company before he entered the construction industry. A construction injury was his motivation to return to college. This beginning, along with growing up in a small town, gives him a unique insight into the health struggles of citizens living in this area.
