When asked what other important information he would like Statesboro residents to know, Thomas replied, “Community. We are very proud to be a member of the iconic True Value family, and we’re here to serve our community.” He then added, “Support of small, local businesses is very important to all of us.”
This is a principle that McKeithen obviously believes is not only important, but one that should be reciprocated: His business is very involved in supporting Statesboro’s 7th Mile Farm, a 100-bed campground and retreat center which serves children in foster care. As part of this support, they are also very active in supporting Fostering Bulloch, part of the Bulloch County Division of Family & Children Services (DFCS).
Other organizations that benefit from McKeithen’s outreach include the Boys & Girls Club, whom they sponsor regularly, and local schools and youth organizations, to whom they donate paint and other materials. They have also adopted the portion of Highway 67 in front of their store for Keep Bulloch Beautiful.
