Marshall used a five-run second inning to spoil the Senior Day of Georgia Southern (GS) softball, notching an 8-1 win over the Eagles on Sunday afternoon at Eagle Field.
GS sees its season come to a close with a 17-34 overall record and a 6-18 mark in the Sun Belt.
The Thundering Herd finished up the 2023 regular season with a 43-9 overall record and a 17-5 mark in the Sun Belt, setting a new program record for wins in a single season.

Sydney Nester improved to 25-7 with the victory as she gave up four hits and one run in seven innings of work, walking three while striking out 11.
Kastin Belogorska (1-4) took the loss for the Eagles, giving up four hits and three runs in 1 1/3 innings of work, walking one.
The Eagles honored three seniors who played their final games at Eagle Field on Sunday - Belogorska, outfielder Chandler Caldwell and third baseman Olivia Creamer.
