Louise Reau earns bid for NCAA championship

Ranked #105 individually by Clipped, Reau is making her first appearance in the NCAA Championship and is the first Eagle to earn an NCAA Championship individual bid. Tournament play begins May 6-8 in Bermuda Run, North Carolina.

Freshman Louise Reau has earned an individual bid to the Bermuda Run Regional for the NCAA Women's Golf Championship as announced on The GOLF Channel last week. 

The Regional is scheduled for May 6-8 at the Bermuda Run Country Club in Bermuda Run, North Carolina, where Reau will compete against 13 other teams and five individuals. The top five teams and the top individual not on those teams will advance to the finals, which will be played May 17-22 at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, California.

The field in the Bermuda Run Regional consists of Wake Forest, Texas, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, UCF, South Florida, Tennessee, Oregon State, North Texas, Delaware, Charleston Southern, and Navy. The five other individuals come from NC State, North Florida, James Madison, and Fairfield.

Reau averaged 71.58 heading into the Sun Belt Conference Championship as the freshman tied for 37th during stroke play and took her semifinals match play with a 4&3 win over ULM. 

This season, Reau claimed two individual titles with wins at the Edisto Island Invitational and The Southern. She has earned five top-ten finishes and eight top-20 finishes on the season. Reau was named Sun Belt Golfer of the Week two times this season for her performance at the Edisto Island Invitational and the Valspar Augusta Invitational. 

Georgia Southern women's golf finished second at the Sun Belt Conference Championship.
