Notes

  • Currently ranked 26th in the country by Golfstat, Georgia Southern earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Championships, its 28th appearance, and will play in the Salem Regional May 15-17 at The Cliffs at Keowee Falls.
  • The Eagles will compete against 13 other teams and five individuals. The Salem Regional is one of six in the country. The top five teams and the top individual not on those teams from each regional will advance to the NCAA Finals, which will be played May 26-31 at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Arizona.
  • The Eagles are the fifth seed in the Salem Regional, which has a field of North Carolina (2-Golfstat), Georgia Tech (11), Texas A&M (14), San Diego State (23), Arkansas (35), Purdue (38), New Mexico (47), Clemson (54), Furman (59), Middle Tennessee (64), Northern Illinois (123), Long Island (185) and Longwood (201).
  • This is Georgia Southern's 11th appearance in the last 14 NCAA Championships. Georgia Southern won the SoCon Tournament in 2011 and 2014, the Sun Belt Tournament in 2015 and 2021 and received at-large bids in 2009, 2010, 2013, 2017, 2019, 2022 and 2023. Georgia Southern made six consecutive NCAA Championship appearances from 2001-06 and has earned a bid to the last four. It is the Eagles' sixth appearance in the NCAA Championships under head coach Carter Collins and the 11th in Collins' tenure on the coaching staff.
  • The Eagles have four team stroke-play titles on their resume and have finished in the top-5 seven times this season.
  • Five of the six Eagles making the trip to Salem have experience playing in an NCAA Regional, led by Ben Carr. Carr played in the NCAA Regional in 2019 (T33), 2021 (T14) and 2022 (T15). Mason Williams played in 2021 (T43) and 2022 (T6). Wilson Andress (T45), Brantley Baker (T29) and Hogan Ingram (T43) played in the New Haven Regional last season.
  • Carr, Williams and Andress were named first-team All-Sun Belt, while Parker Claxton was named second-team all-conference. Carr was named the league's Golfer of the Year, and Collins was named Coach of the Year. Carr earned second-team honors in 2019 and first-team kudos in each of the last two years, and Williams was named second-team All-Sun Belt last season. Andress earned third-team honors last year.
  • The Eagles are paired with San Diego State and Arkansas for Monday's first round and will tee off the 10th hole at 8:30 a.m.
