GS Eagles: Volleyball set for foreign tour

Georgia Southern volleyball will embark on a 10-day trip to Argentina and play five matches June 7-17.

The Eagles begin the foreign tour in Buenos Aires, where they will play some matches as well as visit Palermo Soho and Recoleta and do some sightseeing in Puerto Madero and la Boca.

The next stop is Chivilcoy for a match, and then the Eagles travel to Goya to play a match, sightsee and interact with the locals.

The final stop on the tour is Iguazu Falls, where the Eagles will water repel, zipline, hike, swim and have dinner with the opposing team. They return to Buenos Aires to play their final match before beginning the trek back to Statesboro.

Georgia Southern recorded its second straight winning season (16-12) in 2022, its second consecutive winning campaign in home matches (8-4) and its second straight campaign with a .500 or better winning percentage in conference play (7-7).

The Eagles return 14 letterwinners to the 2023 roster and have added newcomers Ally Barnhart, Reagan Barth, Lexi Duffy, Ailie Hair and Paige Spanbauer as the Eagle newcomers for 2023.
