Georgia Southern softball placed five players on the 2025 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team, announced this week by the organization.
It is the second straight year the Eagles have placed the maximum allowed five student-athletes on the team. Senior Faith Barth and junior Emma Davis earn a spot on the squad for a second straight year, while junior Bailey Holland and sophomores Delanie Thames and Valerie Combs were named to the team for the first time in their careers.
Barth notches a spot for carrying a 3.81 in sport management from Georgia Southern. She led the Eagles at the plate in 2024 with a .333 batting average, adding nine doubles, three home runs and 28 RBI. The Dacula, Ga., native wrapped up her three-year Eagle career by hitting .317 in 151 games with 35 doubles and 75 RBI.
Davis, meanwhile, notches a spot for carrying a 3.75 GPA in criminal justice and criminology. The two-time All-Sun Belt Conference outfielder hit .305 this season with 30 runs scored and 15 stolen bases. A native of Grayson, Ga., Davis had a 10-game hitting streak between March 14-29 and collected 14 multi-hit games this season.
Holland earns her first Academic All-District honor for the Eagles as she carried a 3.66 GPA in construction management. The Vidalia, Ga., native went 7-7 this season with a 2.89 ERA in 97 innings of work, striking out 55 batters.
Thames also earns her first honor as the Statesboro native carries a 3.54 GPA in psychology. She hit .268 this season with a team-leading seven home runs to go with 26 RBI, also leading the team with a .477 slugging percentage.
Finally, Combs notches a spot for her perfect 4.0 GPA in finance. The Nashville, Ill., native hit .250 with two home runs and 25 RBI in her first season with the Eagles after transferring from Western Illinois.
