How It Happened

  • Lindsay Collins and Annalia Small raced to a 6-0 lead in the first set in under 25 minutes. They closed out the second set 6-2 to put the Devils up 1-0.

Seeing them play so well gave the rest of the team the confidence they needed. Collins and Small are now 21-1 together on the season.

  • Maggie Proctor and Jolee Jordan got down early at first doubles but then won the last 9 games in a row to notch a 6-3,6-0 win and put the girls within one win of a victory.

Proctor and Jordan have racked up 23 wins against only 1 loss on the season.

While Anna Washington was in a battle at second singles and Ada Lacienski was still early in her first set, all eyes turned to Naomi Feltman at first singles.

  • Feltman played really well and was able to win a lot of long rallies as she pulled through with a 6-1,6-0 victory

That win solidified the Lady Blue Devils ticket to the Elite 8 for the first time in a long time. With the win, Naomi Feltman picked up her 50th win of her career.

Quotables

“I am so happy for the girls as we have come so close the last few years of making the Elite 8 and for them to take that long bus ride and then be able to play so well was very gratifying. They have worked so hard and I am very proud of them,” Head coach Brian Hall said.
