The Lodge at Bethany honors residents with elegant “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” Mother’s Day social

On May 9, 2025, The Lodge at Bethany hosted a glamorous and heartfelt Mother’s Day Social themed “Breakfast at Tiffany’s — Bethany Style,” celebrating the grace, strength, and joy of its residents and their families with timeless charm and community spirit.

On May 9th, 2025, The Lodge at Bethany hosted a memorable Mother’s Day Social, in elegance, warmth, and timeless style. At its beginning, Bethany opened a home to help support widows of deceased pastors, many of them mothers, and it grew to what we have today. This is just one thing that makes Bethany and its compassion so outstanding!

The Lodge at Bethany was thrilled to announce its theme for the 2025 event celebrating its remarkable women: Breakfast at Tiffany’s -- Bethany Style! Inspired by the timeless elegance of Audrey Hepburn and admired by many, the theme was selected to bring both beauty and joy to residents and their families.

“I always admire Audrey Hepburn and her style," Jerri Mathis, Engagement Director shared, noting that one of her favorite quotes of Hepburn's is, ‘The most important thing is to enjoy your life - to be happy; it's all that matters.’ "With that being said, the theme was chosen and captured the spirit of the event perfectly,"

Each resident had the privilege of inviting 2 guests, with over 90 total in attendance. Guests and residents were encouraged to dress in their finest black dress attire, with white pearls, long black gloves, chic black sunglasses and elegant hair couture to customize the elegant look.

The result was beautifully customized to  bring the movie to life in the heart of Bethany. The residents enjoyed watching movies of Audrey Hepburn’s, including ‘My Fair Lady’, ‘Roman Holiday,’ and ‘Breakfast at Tiffany’s’ with a packed ‘Theatre Room' every week. It was a time to honor these women and enjoy one another’s company in a setting that felt straight out of a classic film.

This event was memorable with the help of Bethany’s amazing volunteers. The menu consisted of party sandwiches, cheese straws, and pecan meltaways. For the third year in a row, Tiffany blue cake squares, complete with the signature white bow, were beautifully crafted by Brenda Brinson and Jo McKanna.

Each resident received a gift in a Tiffany blue box tied with a white ribbon, as well. Mathis shared, “I have always admired the Tiffany necklace and bracelet, and when I was looking for a meaningful gift, I found a look-alike bracelet with a scripture verse: Proverbs 4:23 -- 'Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.' It seemed perfect!"
