First Baptist Church Statesboro will host the Young At Heart luncheon on May 13th at 11:30a.m. in the Perry Fellowship Hall at First Baptist Statesboro (108 N. Main St.). They are honored to host Dr. Richard Blackaby as a guest speaker for the event. Tickets are $10 per person. Reservations are not required, though lunch seating may be limited.
Organizers say the opportunity to hear Dr. Blackaby is the highlight of their events calendar for this year, as most Christians have likely read or studied 'Experiencing God', or one of his other books. They have worked hard to bring a pastor of this caliber to Statesboro.
Richard Blackaby is the president of Blackaby Ministries International (www.blackaby.org) and the eldest son of Henry and Marilynn. Richard has a Ph.D. in church history from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He has served as a senior pastor and as a seminary president. Richard travels extensively and speaks internationally on spiritual leadership, experiencing God, revival, and God in the marketplace.
Richard regularly works with Christian CEOs of Fortune 500 companies. You can follow Blackaby on Twitter at @richardblackaby, Facebook at Dr. Richard Blackaby, or his podcast at The Richard Blackaby Leadership Podcast. Blackaby and his wife Lisa live in Atlanta, three children all serve in ministry and have eight grandchildren, 5 boys and 3 girls!
Blackaby has authored and co-authored 40 books, including: Experiencing God, The Experiencing God Study Bible, The Ways of God, The Seasons of God, Spiritual Leadership, God in the Marketplace, Hearing God’s Voice, Unlimiting God, Putting a Face on Grace, The Inspired Leader, Spiritual Leadership Coaching. Living Out of the Overflow and Flickering Lamps: Christ and His Church.
This is the final Young At Heart event before summer break. The program will resume in September, when leaders hope to sponsor more day trips and retreats.
