Mr. Willie Ellis was born March 3, 1951 in Statesboro, GA to the late Garfield Ellis and Frances Adams Ellis. He answered the call to eternal life on Thursday, June 5, 2025 at East Georgia Regional Medical Center in Statesboro, GA.
Willie was preceded in death by his parents Garfield and Frances Ellis, and sisters, Hilda Ellis Williams, Stella Mae Ellis and Dorothy Carolyn Ellis.
He spent his life bringing love and joy to everyone he met. He was a 1971 alumni of William James High School. Willie had a passion for singing in the Hodges Grove Full Gospel Choir. He worked at Rogers Bridge until his health declined.
As he was affectionately known, "Bill" leaves his memories to be cherished by five sisters, Rosa Lee Divine, Mattie Sue (Willie) Herrington, Betty Ann Banner, Ruthie Hill, and Willie Pearl Ellis (Dadun) Laury; two brothers Bobby (Christine) Ellis and Jimmy Lee (Tisha) Ellis; a special friend Joann Cox and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Public viewing for Mr. Ellis will be held on Friday, June 13, 2025, from 2:oo - 5:00 PM at the funeral home.
The family of Willie "Bill" Ellis will receive visitors for the family visitation on Friday, June 13, 2025, from 5:00 - 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
Funeral services to honor the life and legacy of Mr. Ellis will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at Hodges Grove Baptist Church, 841 Miller St Ext, Statesboro, GA 30458 with Rev. Joe Herrington, officiating and Rev. Dr. John Harmon, pastor/presiding.
Burial will follow at the Eastside Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be family & friends.
