March 3, 1961 - October 24, 2024
Sheri Potts Fields passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on October 24, 2024, at Tidewell Hospice House in Bradenton Florida.
She was born on March 3, 1961, in Evans County and graduated from Southeast Bulloch High School in 1979. Sheri spent the majority of her career in the medical field, and at the time of her retirement, she served as medical office manager for The Eye Institute in Savannah, Georgia.
Sheri was passionate about a few things: Atlanta Braves, college football (particularly UGA), cooking and her grandchildren. For her, the only thing that made the end of baseball season tolerable was cheering on The Dawgs each Saturday in the Fall. She was a fantastic cook and enjoyed cooking for her husband and family. However, loving on her grandchildren was her true source of joy.
Sheri was preceded in death by her father, Eddie Potts, Sr.
She is survived by her husband of 16 years, John; her children, Amanda Willis (Gary) and Alana Corley, John Ryan Fields II (Jamie) and Jordan Fields (Evan Hoch); and her cherished grandchildren, Emma, Emily, Hadlee, Holden, Hanson, Colton and Zachary. Sheri is also survived by her mother, Betty Potts; her sister, Melanie Potts Smith and her brother, Eddie Potts, Jr. (Dana). She has many cousins, nieces, nephews and special friends whom she considered to be family – namely Dave, Linda and Lisa.
A graveside service will be held Friday November 1, 2024, at 2:00pm at Union Baptist Church Cemetery followed by visitation in the church social hall.
Union Baptist Church was precious to Sheri because it was there that she came to know the Lord and was baptized by her father, who pastored the church.
