Mr. Jim Oglesby Lanier, age 59, died on Wednesday, May 1st 2024 at Ogeechee Area Hospice in Statesboro. Jim was born on May 24th 1964 in Millen, GA to the late Henry Grady Lanier Jr. and Mildred Estelle Portwood Lanier. He was raised in Millen on the family dairy farm and continued to work as a farmer for most of his life. He also was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing in his free time. Jim was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his sister, Susie Lanier of Statesboro, his brother and sister-in-law, Grady and Jennifer Lanier of Mt. Juliet, TN, his niece, Gracy Lanier, his nephew, Zann Lanier, as well as many cousins and extended family.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
