Hinton Manning Starling 94, joined his loving wife, Edith, in heaven, on Friday, March 15, 2024 at the Ogeechee Area Hospice Inpatient Facility.
Mr. Hinton was born in Bulloch County, August 10, 1929 to Johnny and Viola Purvis Starling. His childhood was spent in Savannah, GA. He married Edith Henderson and they made their home in Garden City where they raised five children. He's preceded in death by his wife Edith H. Starling and a daughter, Karen Starling.
Hinton was a family man through and through. His loves included, go cart racing, coaching little league, hunting, fishing, boating and camping. He was a jack of all trades and there was nothing he couldn't build or fix. Hinton retired from International Paper after 44 years. His retirement home was back to Bulloch County, where he lived 34 years. He attended Trinity Baptist Church in Nevils. He cracked pecans for family and friends and never met a stranger. He was the greatest man to ever live and we will miss him forever.
He is survived by his sons Richard Starling (Peggy), Craig Starling, (John), Keith Starling (Walter), his daughter Sherry Teague (Howard); Eight grandchildren, Jeffrey Griswold, Robert Starling, Heather Benkert (John), Rachel Hurst (Scott), Brian Griswold (Becky), Patrick Starling (Meredith), Katie Fuller (George), and Connor Starling. 13 great grands, Riley Benkert, Sophia Hurst, Reghan Benkert, Ana Griswold, Molly Griswold, Ryann Benkert, Ava Hurst, Brody Starling, Emmy Griswold, Ella Griswold, Carter Starling, Elouise Fuller and Elizabeth Fuller.
The funeral service will be held on Sunday March 17, 2024 at 4:00 p.m. at Trinity Baptist Church. Mr. Starling will lie in state one hour prior to the service.
Pallbearers will be John Benkert, Walter Chabode, Scott Hurst, Garry Hendricks, Karson Bobbitt, George Fuller, Spencer Boyum, Ethan Edgar and John LaBarbera.
Interment will be in the church cemetery.
