May 21, 1946  -  May 26, 2025

Mrs. Henrietta Vanessa B. Williams was born on May 21, 1946 in Pembroke, GA and the sunset for her on May 26, 2025. She was born to the late Fannie Elizabeth and Andrew David Bacon. She was preceded in death by her loving parents; two brothers (David M. & James Franklin Bacon); and two sisters, (Kathy Bacon and Alice Irene Jenkins).

She was educated in Pembroke, GA where she attended and later graduated from Pembroke High School. At the age of 16, and prior to her graduation, she had a son which did not deter her from continuing her education. She was ambitious in her days and due to her tenacity, she attended Morris Brown College in Atlanta, GA upon graduating from high school. However, she encountered a roadblock which precluded her from completing her studies at Morris Brown. She ;later moved to New York and despite the adversity she previously encountered, she continued her studies at the Institute of Dietetics in Brooklyn, NY where she earned a Certification in food preparation and worked as a Dietitian. She then furthered her education at Herbert Lehman College of New York University where she earned a Bachelor of Science Degree and worked as a Nutritionist at the New York Board of Education. She also received a Master’s Degree in Biochemistry as well as a certificate in food inspection for the State of New York. With her continued enthusiasm for success, Henrietta later started a teaching career where she worked for 45 years for the Patterson Board of Education until she retired in 2018.

Henrietta wasn’t much of a people person but she loved her family dearly. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren, laughing and telling jokes. She was loved by everyone who came in contact with her. She could spark up a conversation with anyone and it was hard not to listen to what she had to say. Henrietta also loved to shop on the weekends. She enjoyed the news, the Bobby Flay Show, basketball, baseball and tennis. She was filled with lots of joy and now she sits up high with God the Father watching over her loved ones.

Henrietta leaves to cherish her life and memories, her loving and devoted son, Jeffery Bacon; three grandchildren, Arrii and Alexandria Bacon, and Jamal Thomas all of Teaneck, NJ; two brothers, Obie (Rose) Bacon of Bluffton, SC and Curtis Bacon of Pembroke, GA; five sisters, Lula Sherman of Pine Mountain, GA; Lynn Bacon of Pembroke, GA; Jane and Janet Bacon of Syracuse, NY and Karen (Cal) Foster of Silver Springs, MD; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
