Floyd Denton "Dent" Wiggins

Sylvania, GA - Mr. Floyd Dent Wiggins, 58, of Sylvania, passed away on June 5, 2024 at his residence.

He was a graduate of the Screven County High School Class of 1984. In school captained the football and baseball team, and received a baseball scholarship to USC Salkehatchie.

During high school Dent was a lifeguard at the Recreation Department, where he met the love of his life, his high school sweetheart, Pam.

He worked at Torrington for fifteen years, and has been with Planters Telephone for sixteen and a half years.

Dent has faithfully served as the pastor at Antioch Christian Church since 2013. He was a shining light to everyone he came into contact with.

He was an avid hunter, mainly racoon and ducks, and enjoyed learning or reading about history.

He was a lifetime Alabama fan and coached both of his sons and countless other kids coming up during little league baseball and football.

He is survived by his wife of thirty-eight years, Pam Wiggins, his sons and their spouses, Cole (Shanita) Wiggins and Cam (Gentri) Wiggins, grandchildren, C.J. Wiggins, Jeremiah Wiggins, Annie Wiggins, and Bonnie Lee Wiggins, his parents, Jimmy and Vivian Wiggins, siblings, Jim (Tom Williams) Wiggins, all of Sylvania, Tami (Dutch) Heidler, of Greenville, SC.

Visitation will be held Friday evening from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at the Joiner Anderson Screven Chapel.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 8, 2024 at Antioch Christian Church at 11:00am with Dent’s sons Cole and Cam to officiate, and remarks by David Burke.

Interment will follow in the church cemetery, and the family will receive friends following.

Pallbearers will be Monty Wiggins, Josh Timms, Travis Timms, Butch Beasley, Nathan Williams, Chad Timms, Stewart Thompson, Ronnie Bazemore, David Burke, Rex Hodges, Stephen Durrence, and Robbie Lewis.

Honorary pallbearers will be the employees of Planters Telephone.
