Emory Donald "Don" Lariscy, 65, of Sylvania, GA, passed away at his residence on Thursday, June 13, 2024.
Don was born in Millen to the late Woodrow Lariscy and Myrtis McMillan. He graduated from Screven County High School in 1978 and was a member of the 4-H and FFA and showed livestock. He was an avid horseman, a member of the Screven County Riding Club, and used to barrel race and had even rodeoed for a short stint. Apache was his favorite horse who was with Don for thirty years. In his free time he enjoyed watching westerns and Sci-Fi. He started his career with Mr. W.E. Pace at the Sylvania Stockyard, and had worked at Torrington Co., Fort Howard, and for Georgia Lawn Care. He was a member of the Foursquare Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Gaetanna Bazemore Lariscy, his parents, and siblings, Gloria Jean Finch Hayman, Ellie Finch, Jean (Bobby) Hayman, Fred Zeigler, and Ken McMillan.
He is survived by his daughters and son-in-law, Nikki L. and Alex Collins, and Paige Lariscy, grandchildren, Brayton Knight, Nathan Mock, Corbin Knight, Tanna Mock, and Lillian Collins, siblings, Willie (Karen) Zeigler, Ed (Kim) McMillan, and Chris McMillan, and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, June 17, 2024 at the Buck Creek Methodist Church at 11:00am.
Pallbearers will be Dustin McMillan, Ethan McMillan, Donald Connor, Corbin Knight, Nick Mock, Jamie Hayman, Will Zeigler, and Gavin McMillan.
Honorary pallbearers will be his brothers.
