Dan “Travis” Dailey, age 59, passed away on Wednesday May 29th at St. Joseph’s Candler Hospital in Savannah.
Travis was born in Muncie, Indiana on June 10th 1964 to the late Estill Dailey and Louise Weaver Dailey. Growing up he loved playing baseball and later in life he was an avid golfer, outdoorsman, and loved animals. Travis worked for the Statesboro Police Department from 1985 until 1990 and then worked for many years with his father in construction with Pride Builders. He went back to law enforcement in 2010 with the Effingham County Sherriff Department, serving as Sergeant of Training Division and firearms instructor. Travis was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Mark Dailey.
He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Gay Dailey, his son and daughter-in-law, Trevor and Stephanie Dailey, his daughter, Erin Dailey, his sister and brother-in-law, Gigi and Jim Costlow, as well as several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive visitors on Saturday from 10:00am until 11:00am at Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home in Statesboro. The funeral will follow at 11:00am in the funeral home chapel with Chaplain Nick Pumfrey officiating.
Interment will be at Bulloch Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Trevor Dailey, Donnie Mincey, Chuck Francis, Freddy Rushing, Ivey Williamson, and Dan Mealor.
