October 18, 2006 - September 12, 2023 - Dalton Bailey Walker, 16, of Newington, passed away September 12, 2023.

He was born in Statesboro, Ga and reared in Newington. He was a junior at Screven County High School. At a young age he was baptized at the Newington Baptist Church. In his free time, he enjoyed gaming, hunting, fishing, and cheering for the Georgia Bulldogs. He will be remembered for his love of his friends and family, and the friendships that meant the world to him. He was an avid listener of music and will be sorely missed by his dog, Shorty.

He is survived by his father/daddy, Charles David Walker, Jr., his mother/momma, Brittany Grovenstein Walker; sister, Kaygen Ansley Walker; brother, Luke Gabriel Robert Walker; paternal grandparents, Dotty Walker and Charles D. Walker, Sr.,; maternal grandparents Carey Grovenstein of Sylvania, and Judy Grovenstein of Newington; “special grandfather”, Darrell Boykin of Oliver; aunts and uncles, Yolonda and Bob Hodges of Newington, Amy and Justin Cail of Sylvania, Chris Grovenstein of Sylvania, Craig and Angelina Grovenstein of Statesboro, Brandy Lee of Newington, and Thomas Morgan of Newington, Heather and Josh Bowles, Amber and Daniel Burke, all of Sylvania.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2023 at 12:00pm at the Joiner Anderson Screven Chapel with Wes Withrow officiating. The family will receive friends for two hours prior to the service.

Interment will follow in the Newington City Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Aiden Tillman, Gatlin Scott, Eric Sheley, Reagan Bowles, Keiran Joiner, Greyson Smith, Uriel Ortega, and Lauren McMillian.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Dalton Walker Memorial Fund, c/o Bank of Newington, 107 West Ogeechee St., Sylvania, GA 30467.
