It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Cheryl Marie Haygood, who departed this life on Thursday, June 5, 2025, at the age of 76. Born on November 04, 1948, in Statesboro, GA, Cheryl was a beloved member of the Brooklet, GA community, where she resided for many years.
Cheryl is survived by her loving family, including her daughter Terri Frost, her son Tracy Rushing, and her cherished grandson Zachary Frost. She also leaves behind her devoted sister Brenda Hagans and her husband Jimmy, as well as her nieces Jaime Marsh, Ansley Brannen, and Lauren Johnson, and her nephews Ryley Brannen and Corey March. Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Jessie Crosby.
Cheryl's professional life was dedicated to her role as a sales associate, where she found great joy in serving her customers and forming lasting connections with them. She was known for her warm smile and caring nature, which made a lasting impression on everyone she met.
Her interests and passions extended beyond her occupation. Cheryl was an ardent admirer of butterflies and had a deep love for all things purple. Music played a significant role in her life, with a special fondness for Elvis and country music. She was also a fan of Patrick Swayze movies.
Among her greatest joys was her dog, Jack, who was her constant companion and source of comfort. However, it was her grandson Zach who held the most special place in her heart, and her love and pride for him were boundless.
Cheryl's family and friends will remember her as a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. A celebration of Cheryl's life will be planned for a later date.
