Mrs. Betty Jean Wimberly Widener, age 83, passed away on September 5, 2023, at Eagle Health & Rehab in Statesboro. Betty was born and raised in Screven County. She was a homemaker for most of her life.
She is preceded in death by her parents and three sons, Johnny Widener, Tracy Widener, and James Widener.
Betty is survived by her children, Mary Benoit, Thomas Widener, Joyce Johnson, and Vicky Ann Hadden Mabry; her eleven grandchildren, James Widener, Nicholas Widener, Kimberly Widener, Richard Johnson, Michael Widener, Steven Sikes, Michelle Christy, Michael Quick, Brandy Quick, Samatha Widener and Brandon Widener; as well as 14 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday at 3:00 p.m. at Sardis Cemetery.
