Southeast Bulloch Middle School wins region Academic Quiz Bowl
The team, who won all five of its competition rounds to win the region, also won the title in 2022. They will now advance to state which will be held at Georgia College & State University in Milledgeville on January 20.

Peach State Health Plan and Centene Foundation to invest $2.2 Million in GS Rural Healthcare Workforce Development Program
GS will expand recruitment, enrollment, retention and graduation of BSN students, with a focus on students in rural Georgia. Funding will be used to develop and implement a CNA Program that will serve as an early pipeline for the BSN program. Funding will also be used to expand the addiction recovery program.

Sen. Ossoff announces federal resources to help protect Tybee Island from coastal flooding
The Federal funding, through the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation (NFWF)’s National Coastal Resilience Fund, will help the City design and permit a horizontal levee and living shoreline along 1,200 feet of marsh, replacing a culvert that is impeding water flow and causing erosion across the marsh, benefiting 185 acres of tidal salt marsh.

Red Cross Home Fire Campaign helps save 2,000+ lives
Since its start in 2014, the campaign is credited with helping save more than 2,000 lives, including 240 here in Georgia. Roughly one-third of those who survived were children. As part of the campaign, the Red Cross works with local partners to install free smoke alarms and share fire safety information with families.
