Young Statesboro musicians releasing first EP

Ethan Cave, Gilbert Sheppard, Mary Parker, and Kai Parrish of Statesboro have banded together to form new indie rock band Charlie’s Pool House. Their first EP is out today.

Four young musicians, all from Statesboro, Georgia, have banded together to form new indie rock band Charlie’s Pool House. The band consists of Ethan Cave on lead guitar, Gilbert Sheppard on rhythm guitar, Mary Parker on bass, and Kai Parrish on drums.

The band is excited to announce that their six-song EP, Pollen, will be out on Friday, July 28th.

Pollen is the group's first EP. The band will be celebrating their debut at Eagle Creek Brewing Company from 8-11 on Friday night. There will be CDs, stickers, and more for purchase alongside the great music.

“I feel like we’re headed in a really nice direction. The music we’re making is what we like, and I feel like it shows in our music. We really want other people to like it, too.” Guitarist Gilbert Sheppard said, “We hope our music broadens the music scene around Statesboro.”

The band sends special thanks to Cameron Harrison, Pladd Dot Music, and Brendan Cave for their help in producing the EP, merchandise, and providing equipment for the recordings.

“Recording the EP has helped us become better friends, and there are definitely plans for more music in the future,” band member Ethan Cave said.

If you can't make it to the show Friday, Charlie's Pool House will also be at Dolan's Barbeque on August 4th. Keep an eye out for future shows to catch some of Statesboro's wonderful young talent in action!
