Structure Fire Heavily Damages Brooklet Area Business

A fire severely damaged a business located a few miles east of Brooklet, on Saturday, June 8, 2024. The fire, which began in the late afternoon, prompted a rapid response from multiple emergency services, ensuring no injuries were reported.

On Saturday, June 8, 2024, a significant fire severely damaged a Brooklet area business located at 10341 US-80 East, a few miles east of Brooklet.

The incident began when Bulloch County 911 received multiple calls from bystanders reporting heavy smoke and flames originating from the warehouse type structure. The initial dispatch to Bulloch County and Statesboro Fire Departments occurred at 5:46 PM.  Smoke could be seen from the City of Brooklet, miles away from the structure.

Firefighters from Bulloch County Fire Station 7 in Brooklet were the first to arrive on the scene and confirmed that the business was heavily engulfed in flames. Recognizing the severity of the situation, they immediately called for additional engines, tankers, and firefighters to assist in combating the blaze.

Bulloch County Sheriff's Deputies and Bulloch County EMS also responded to the scene to provide support and ensure public safety. Fortunately, there were no injuries reported during the incident.

In the aftermath of the fire, Bulloch County Fire investigators will conduct a routine cause and origin investigation to determine how the fire started.
