Statesboro PD reminds drivers to keep emergency kits stocked

A dead battery or flat tire might not seem like a big deal until you’re stuck on the side of the road with no help in sight. Statesboro Police are urging drivers to prep now so they’re not panicking later.

The Statesboro Police Department is encouraging drivers to take a few minutes out of their day to check one simple thing that could be a real lifesaver: their car’s emergency kit.

Whether you're stuck in a storm or your car gives out on the side of the road, being prepared with the right supplies can seriously change the outcome.

Some must-haves for your vehicle emergency kit include:

  • A flashlight with extra batteries
  • Bottled water
  • A power bank or car phone charger
  • A basic tool kit
  • A first aid kit
  • A tire pressure gauge
  • A spare tire
  • Jumper cables

Statesboro PD wants the community to remember that emergencies can hit without warning — and being caught off guard is the last thing anyone wants. Taking just five minutes to check your supplies could save hours of stress and even lives.

If you ever find yourself in need on the road, the department reminds residents they’re just a call away at 912-764-9911.
