The annual Healthy Kids Day®, hosted by the Statesboro Family YMCA, is set for May 4, 2024, from 10am to 2pm at 409 Clairborne Ave., Statesboro, GA. This free event is open to the public and promises a day packed with activities promoting health and fun for kids and families as they gear up for summer. Some featured activities include family field day activities, group fitness demos, vendors, water activities, bounce houses, and so much more.

The primary goal of Healthy Kids Day is to foster a healthy lifestyle for children and families, both physically and mentally, throughout the summer and beyond. By providing a variety of engaging activities, the YMCA aims to raise awareness of the resources and programs available to the community, empowering families to adopt healthy habits year-round. Don't miss the opportunity to learn about our exciting youth sports programs and upcoming summer day camps, offering children opportunities for growth, development, and fun in a supportive environment.

In addition to the festivities, the YMCA is excited to announce its new summer promotion, "Sun's Out Summer at the Y," where individuals can join the Y with no joiner’s fee. This initiative is designed to make it easier for families to access the YMCA's facilities and programs, furthering its mission of promoting health and wellness within the community.

Hannah Beggs, Executive Director, emphasized the importance of keeping kids active both physically and mentally during the summer months. "At the Y, we believe in providing resources for families to create healthy habits, no matter the time of year. Healthy Kids Day is a fun, free community-wide event that encourages families to take advantage of all the great summer activities the Y has to offer."

Healthy Kids Day is supported locally by Bulloch Solutions, Goodwill, Read for Unity, Zen' Energy Holistics, Tormenta, Goodwill SEGA, TA Express, Read for Unity, The Georgia Coalition of the People’s Agenda Coastal Georgia, Lisa B The Author, and Beauty with Aubrey.
