Statesboro Dollar General Robbed at Gunpoint

This is the second armed robbery of a store in Bulloch County in just over two weeks. Citizens are urged to share any suspicious activity or information with Bulloch County Investigators

The Statesboro Dollar General located at 19170 US-80 West, which is at the intersection of Akins Pond Road and US-80 West, was robbed Tuesday evening February 7, 2023 around 9:48 PM.

According to Bill Black, Bulloch County Sheriff's Chief Deputy two males entered the store and both of them had their faces covered and were wearing all black. One of the suspects presented a handgun and demanded money.  They then fled the store on foot.

Bulloch County deputies were on the scene in minutes of the call being received by Bulloch 911.  Bulloch Investigators and K-9 units also responded to the scene as did Bulloch County EMS.

Paramedics evaluated one of the witnesses who suffered a panic attack at the scene but was not physically assaulted.  No one was transported to EGRMC by EMS.

Bulloch Investigators are reviewing video surveillance and processing physical evidence from the scene and hope to release more information.

Anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area of the Dollar General or has any information on the robbery is asked to contact the Bulloch County Sheriff's Criminal Investigation Division at 912-764-1744.

Second Armed Robbery in Bulloch

This is the second armed robbery of a store in Bulloch County in just over two weeks.  Grice Connect reported about the first one which occurred on Saturday, January 21, 2023 only 8.5 miles away at the J.T. Minit Mart located at the intersection of US-25 and Rocky Ford road.

Bulloch Chief Deputy Black said that investigators are working to determine if these two robberies are connected since they were in the same general area.

Chief Deputy Black also asks for anyone who may have seen anything suspicious on Saturday evening, January, 21, 2023 between 8:30 pm to 8:45 pm in or around the J.T. Minit Mart or has any information on that robbery to please contact Investigator Jonathan Fadden at 912-764-1747.
