A home in Portal was heavily damaged by fire on Friday, August 18, 2023.
Bulloch County 911 dispatched Bulloch and Statesboro Fire Departments to a house fire in the 700 block of Foxboro Lane in Portal at 9:54 pm on Friday night.
The first firefighters on the scene reported a single wide manufactured home with heavy smoke and flames coming from the home. They requested additional firefighters, tankers and fire engines to the scene to assist in battling the fire.
Firefighters battled the fire aggressively, but in spite of their efforts and due to the advancement of the fire when they arrived, the home experienced significant fire damage.
The occupants were able to escape the fire and there were no reported injuries.
Bulloch County EMS and Portal Police Department responded to assist.
Bulloch Fire Investigators will conduct a routine cause and origin investigation to determine the cause of the fire.
