Pittman Park United Methodist Church is inviting the community to a special Saturday Morning Tea on September 6, 2025, in support of its upcoming Medical Mission Trip to the Dominican Republic.

The event will be held from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. in the church’s Fellowship Hall and promises a morning of inspiration, fellowship, and generosity.

Guests will enjoy a selection of light hors d’oeuvres while hearing from two featured speakers who are deeply connected to the mission’s work abroad.

Donna Bearden of BIG Hope Ministries will share insights on the life-changing nutrition program at the Good Samaritan Clinic in Barahona, where countless families benefit from vital health resources. Dr. Chelsea Mikell, an OB-GYN with Ogeechee OB-GYN in Statesboro, will discuss efforts to bring essential women’s health care to underserved communities in the Dominican Republic.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to support the mission in several meaningful ways:

  1. Sponsor a Table of 8 for $350 – Payments can be made online or by check payable to PPUMC – DR Trip.

  2. Participate in the Silent Auction – Items up for bid include vacation packages to beach and North Georgia destinations, themed gift baskets, and more.

Organizers say the tea is not only a fundraiser but also a chance to learn more about the mission’s impact and to come together in fellowship to bring healing and hope to communities in need.
