More than 30 employers participated in Ogeechee Technical College’s Career Fair on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Jack Hill Building.
The event was open to the public, including Ogeechee Tech students and alumni, graduating high school seniors, veterans, and students from surrounding technical colleges and universities. Attendees were encouraged to bring copies of their résumés, complete on-site applications, and engage directly with local employers.
Jada Taylor, division manager assistant at Ace Electric, emphasized the mutual benefits of the event.
“We are looking for anyone who is driven and willing to be trained,” said Taylor. “It helps when you already have a degree in a field directly related to our business, but we are also looking for students in construction, business, and other areas.”
Employers from across the region, representing a wide range of industries, were on hand to connect with potential candidates. OTC accounting student Justin White said he appreciated the opportunity to explore various career paths.
“As an accounting major, I was just walking around and talking to the different companies about how my talents may serve their company,” said White. “One of the guys I spoke to representing a construction company was a CPA, and I got to hear his insight on what it’s like doing accounting for his business.”
