Community leader and Bulloch County resident Leonard “Len” Fatica announced his candidacy for the Bulloch County Commission District 2C.

Fatica is running because he has been called to overwhelming community encouragement and support from friends, neighbors, and family. He believes in the promise of Building a Better Bulloch for all people. He believes that this county has potential beyond measure. Bulloch needs to be a great place to, live, work and play.

Leadership is needed during this time of tremendous growth for Bulloch County. Our rural citizens have a right to continue enjoying the rural lifestyle so many of them have known all their lives while maintaining a safe environment for all, including clean water and clear air. City and county residents deserve responsible plans for growth while providing quality infrastructure and excellent public safety support.

That is why Len knows that we can only solve these problems by having open, honest, and civil conversations with one another. “We know we will not agree on everything but people deserve to be heard. It is a time to put political differences aside and work for the good of all citizens of Bulloch County. We will have disagreements, but compromise is how we find the best answer that will build a better Bulloch” said Fatica.

Len brings experience and leadership in many areas and that is exactly what we need during this time of unexpected growth for Bulloch County. Len currently serves as Vice Chair of the Planning and Zoning Commission for the City of Statesboro. He has also served on the zoning and planning commission for Etna Township in Ohio and was Vice Chair of the Economic

Development and Joint Economic Development Zone Board. Len retired as Director of Public Safety Solutions for Alcatel-Lucent. His organization was key to leading the work with the Federal Communications Commission and national public safety organizations on wireless broadband.

Len is also an accomplished small business owner. After his retirement, he opened a medical chiropractic practice with his partner. He has also owned a public safety consulting company that worked with the Pennsylvania State Police.

Len stands apart from others not just as an accomplished small businessman, but as a community leader wherever he goes. He is a past President of the Kiwanis Club of Erie, Pennsylvania, and the Rotary Club of Pickerington, Ohio and served as Secretary of the Downtown Statesboro Rotary Club. He was the Chairman of the American Red Cross Chapter in Erie, Pennsylvania, and the Western Pennsylvania Disaster team. He has served as Parish Council President and Safety Leader for his church. Fatica is a Board Member of Habitat for Humanity of Bulloch County and an active member of the Statesboro Chamber of Commerce.

Len cannot sit by while the community that has taken him in so well is not given the leadership it deserves. That is what his campaign and his term in office will be about. Len hopes to Build a Better Bulloch. Len believes that growth will not overtake this county if we work together to prepare. It will mean working with our public safety officials to ensure we support local law enforcement, fire and EMS as we grow into a new Bulloch County. It will mean working with city governments across this county to make sure they are supported in this time of change. It will mean working with local, state, and federal partners to ensure our county is supported as we grow. All of this is what Len will fight for as your next County Commissioner. Electing Len Fatica will ensure that Bulloch County gets a leader it can count on to Build a Better Bulloch.
