Goodwill Southeast Georgia announced today that Michael Winckler, president and CEO, has accepted a new position as president and CEO of Goodwill Industries of Houston (TX). The Goodwill Southeast Georgia Board Chair, Ivy Council, announced Jason Marshall, the current COO of Goodwill Southeast Georgia, as interim CEO effective Jan. 2, 2024.

“Please know this decision was not made lightly as I have been firmly committed to bringing workforce development solutions to the communities of Southeast Georgia for those with challenges and obstacles to sustainable employment,” said Winckler.  “I leave knowing that we have an amazing team in place and that Jason is eminently qualified to lead the organization through this transition."

Winckler joined Goodwill Southeast Georgia in 2015. He has since guided its growth into a 45-million-dollar organization with more than 650 employees and serving more than 3,000 individuals in 29 counties.

“Michael orchestrated the changes which took us to our current status of a pacesetter within the entire Goodwill Industries organization nationwide.  We will miss his leadership, his guidance, and his friendship,” said Council. “Jason has proven his ability to operate at the CEO level. We are confident that Jason will be a great steward during this transition.”
