Georgia Southern Theatre to perform Carrie Girl

Opening night will be Wednesday, April 12th at 7: 30 p.m.

Georgia Southern theatre is proud to announce its final production of the season: Carrie Girl by Chris Mixon, directed by Dr. Sarah McCarroll. The show opens Wednesday, April 12th, and runs through Sunday, Nov. 16th at the Center for Art and Theatre Blackbox.

Carrie Girl is an adaptation of Theodore Dreiser’s 1900 novel Sister Carrie.

Carrie Meeber moves from her small Wisconsin town to join her sister and brother-in-law in Chicago before a series of complicated romantic relationships bring her to New York, where Carrie discovers theatre and finds her voice and her community outside of the expectations men and society have of her.

Opening night will be held on Wednesday, April 12th at 7:30 p.m., and the show will run at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, with a 2 p.m. matinee on Sunday, April 16th.

All performances will be held at the Center for Art & Theatre, which is located at 233 Pittman Drive behind the Interdisciplinary building and next to the Art building, on the Statesboro Campus. General admission will be $12 with student admission at $6.
