Of Note:
- Georgia Southern leads the all-time on-the-field series with ULM 7-3, 5-0 at Paulson Stadium, although the 22-16 win in 2014 at Paulson Stadium to clinch the outright Sun Belt Conference title was vacated due to NCAA sanctions. The official series record is 6-3 in favor of the Eagles, 4-0 in Statesboro.
- The two last met in 2020 in Monroe. J.D. King rushed for 196 yards and a touchdown, NaJee Thompson blocked two punts and Rashad Byrd made a game-saving tackle at the goal line and time expired as Georgia Southern held off ULM for a 35-30 Sun Belt win.
- In 2015, the Eagles scored three touchdowns late to pull away and win 51-31 in Monroe. In 2016, R.J. Murray blocked a field goal with 1:16 left to help preserve a 23-21 win in Paulson Stadium.
- Georgia Southern is 31-9 on Homecoming in the modern era after beating Ball State last year.
