Free Market In The Boro hosted their monthly free market on Saturday, July 8th, from 10am-12pm. The event took place in the rear parking lot of DPR Architecture located at 12 E. Grady St. in Statesboro.
The event invited out locals to bring clean and usable items to pass onto others in a totally free exchange.

The intention of the event is to swap out free trinkets among each other to help keep unused items out of landfills and waterways. Free market exchange (according to the Free Market In The Boro Facebook page) also reduces our personal expenses, promotes sustainability, and connects us with each other in the local community,
Eligible donation items for each month are clothing, household goods, books, movies, toys, food, plants, arts & craft supplies, recyclables, etc. (Large or heavy items must be arranged for drop off in advance.)
Even if one has nothing to bring for donation on a particular month, all are still invited to come out and browse the event for collecting new items. Donors may choose to drop off their free items and go, or stay around to peruse the free market. Also, no hoarding or sales are allowed at the free market.
The free market on July 8th welcomed special guest Stacey Muhammad of Soul Mending Vibrations. Muhammad offered free sound bathing to interested attendees for relaxation and uplift.

Other demonstrations which are regularly offered during free market include Yoga, Wellness, Sound Bathing, Self-Defense, Repurpose and Repair workshops, and so much more.
Regarding the mission of Free Market In The Boro, event founder and coordinator Charly Kinship said, "The main intention of the free market is to keep items out of the landfills. We collect several types of clean and usable items here that others may no longer find useful and showcase them to others for free exchange. We even sometimes re-purpose items like egg cartons, water jugs, etc. for fun, and build objects like bird houses and other neat crafts. Everything at the free market is free, so we encourage all locals to attend. One might find a new treasure to take home, or something that they really need. Whatever is left over at the end, we donate to local charities."
Free Market is proudly supported by: 3 Beaus & A Belle Consignment, 3 Beaus & A Belle at Home, DPR Architecture, and Zen’ergy Holistics - Yoga & Metaphysicals.
