Sara Louise Wise Kendricks, lovingly known as “Loudee,” celebrated her 99th birthday on July 18, 2025, surrounded by faith, family, and a lifetime of memories deeply rooted in Bulloch County.

Born in the "Old City of Eldora," in Bulloch County, Georgia in 1926, Kendricks has spent nearly a century living a life grounded in kindness, hard work, and devotion to her faith. “I’ve always tried to be kind to people and be happy,” she shared; a simple philosophy that’s carried her through decades of change, growth, and purpose.

Kendricks grew up in Stilson and graduated from Stilson School in 1943, back when it offered only 11 grades. That same year, at 17 years old, she married the love of her life, George Kendricks Jr. Together, they built not only successful businesses, but a loving home filled with intention and generosity. The couple adopted four siblings, two brothers and two sisters, and Kendricks is now the proud matriarch of a family that includes eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A woman of many talents, Kendricks found joy in her favorite hobby, crocheting. Over the years, she crafted more than 100 handmade blankets, gifting them to siblings and family members as treasured keepsakes. When asked her favorite food, she didn’t hesitate: “Chicken and dumplings.” And for dessert? Pound cake — a fitting favorite for someone who has baked over 500 of them throughout her life.

Kendricks' favorite color is blue, her favorite flower is "probably roses," and while she doesn’t have a favorite sports team, her heart has always been full for her community and her Savior. “Living a life for Jesus” is how she describes her journey.

Reflecting on her 99 years, Kendricks says she “feels a hundred!” and her wish for future generations is that the world would becomes a safer and happy place.

Her advice to young people? “Hard work never hurt anyone — and always save some of your money. You’ll need it.”

As she looks forward to the big 100 next year, Kendricks continues to inspire all who know her with her warmth, wisdom, and unwavering spirit.

Happy (belated) birthday, Loudee — Bulloch County celebrates you!
