Bulloch County Rabies Clinic aids 150 pets

On June 1, students and staff off FFA and 4-H clubs from PMHS, SEB, and SHS were able to give out 150 rabies shots to the pets of Bulloch County, with the help of veterinarian Dr. Steve Healy.

Ranging from the Middle Ground Store, Portal High School, Langston Chapel Road, Southeast Bulloch, and Nevils Elementary, students were able to provide rabies shots to Bulloch County pets for just $12 in their annual Bulloch County Rabies Clinic on Saturday, June 1, 2024.

Not only this, but the clinic was set up with a drive through format, so all you had to do was pull up, fill out some paperwork, and Dr. Healy would give the shot and you would be on your way.

This setup was used for the convenience of not having to talk your pet into having to go into the vet office. Not to mention the students and staff travelled to each of these schools throughout the day. They were able to cover a range of locations!

The proceeds of the clinic were split between materials (shots) for the animals, and the rest go to the clubs. Dr. Healy volunteered his time at not cost.
