Sheriff Noel Brown and his deputies have been out patrolling, and due to observed conditions, now ask that citizens PLEASE STAY OFF THE ROADS unless their travel is absolutely necessary. If you must travel, please drive SLOWLY and with CAUTION.

From BCSO:

We have received several reports of deep water over the roadways and wash outs on portions of several dirt roads. Some of the major roadways that have been reported as completely covered in water in certain areas are Highways 301 North and South, Cypress Lake Road, County Club Road, Lakeview Road, Highway 46, Old Register Road, and Langston Chapel Road.

Multiple complaints have been received about the more rural roadways as well. The reports are steadily coming in about roadway hazards not only to include water over the roadway but several trees have fallen over roadways as well. At this time the Sheriff deems all roadways a hazard to drivers and asks that everyone stay off of the roadways and inside your homes at this time.

The following impassable roads had been reported to Grice Connect due to flooding or downed trees as of 4:30pm. There is additional roadway flooding all over the county.
