Roosevelt's Character Development Center is offering an afterschool program for children ages 8 to 12 years old.

The program takes place on Monday through Friday from school dismissal times until 6pm. Roosevelt's Character Development Center is able to pick up students and transport them to the afterschool program, as well. This service is available for students at Julia P. Bryant, Mattie Lively, and Mill Creek Elementaries.

Roosevelt's Character Development Center goes beyond the standard afterschool program, as it gives students character education in addition to regular homework help and activities.

"We want to give our students a positive environment to learn, but to also become good citizens. In addition to having homework help and art activities, students will learn various lessons in respect and becoming a good citizen," stated Shelby Cone, Co-Founder of Roosevelt's Character Development Center.

The afterschool program will have a subset program for girls ages 10 and up, called "Pretty Girls." "Pretty Girls" seeks to emphasize that prettiness starts on the inside and will be for mentoring young girls into strong young women.

Afterschool Program spaces are limited, with no more than 25 slots available.
