Starting next week, more than 120,000 high school seniors in Georgia will receive a personalized letter from the governor listing the public universities, colleges, and technical colleges they are academically eligible to attend. The letters will explain how students can claim a spot being held for them at the institution of their choice.

The GHSA board voted unanimously this week to allow high school athletes to make money off of their name, image, and likeness (NIL). Students and their families should seek professional guidance as to how NIL activities could affect collegiate financial aid and/or tax implications.

A screening mammogram can help detect breast cancer in its earliest and most treatable stages. East Georgia Regional Medical Center and Statesboro Imaging Center are encouraging women to schedule their screening now, because when breast cancer is detected early, life-saving treatment can begin right away.
