Low vaccinations, uptick in COVID-19 cases and packed ICU make Bulloch County 'high risk'

Since last week, Bulloch county has jumped from a daily average of one case per 100k to 6.1 cases per day, making the area "high risk" according to CovidActNow.

Bulloch County is marked No. 22 out of all Georgia counties in highest COVID-19 cases per 100k per day, and its sole hospital's ICU has only one empty bed out of 12, according to East Georgia Regional Medical Center.

Evans County has been marked as "very high risk" and second place for highest cases per 100k per county since Thursday, after making a jump from 5.4 cases per 100k June 12 to 29.7 cases over the weekend. Today's report shows a downward trend towards 25.5.

42% of Georgians have gotten at least their first dose, and 34.8% are fully vaccinated. Georgia's rates are also struggling to catch up to the national average of 53%.
