Georgia DOT announces Tuesday, September 1 activation of a new traffic signal on US 301 Bypass/Veterans Memorial Parkway at Old Register Road in Bulloch County.
A traffic study was conducted at this intersection revealing a traffic signal was warranted. Georgia DOT crews have installed and bagged the new traffic signals at this location.
Today, message boards will be placed to alerting motorists of this new traffic signal location and activation date. Local law enforcement will handle traffic control during activation to enhance safety. This signal activation is weather contingent and subject to change.
Motorists are reminded to pay special attention to traffic control devices, signs and posted speed limits to ensure safe passage through the new traffic signal location.
Motorists are advised to expect delays, exercise caution, and reduce their speed while traveling through work zones. Before heading out, get real-time information on work status and traffic conditions. Call 511, visit 511ga.org, or download the Georgia 511 app. Our maintenance team members who repair roads and bridges and our project teams who oversee construction projects are continuing their essential work, while following sanitary work practices prescribed by health agencies to protect themselves and the public from the coronavirus, as are most state DOTs in the U.S.
