The United States Marshals Service arrested a Fort Lauderdale, Florida murder suspect in Statesboro.
On Friday, November 19, 2021 around noon the U.S. Marshall's office arrested the murder suspect Alphonso Travis Brown at a Statesboro apartment complex. Bulloch County Sheriff's deputies transported Brown to the Bulloch County jail.
According to the Fort Lauderdale Police department, Brown had a warrant in connection to a homicide in their jurisdiction.

Through a public records request with the Fort Lauderdale Police department we learned that the arrest was in connection to a September 6, 2021 homicide of Emanuel Stvil Derisse, 39, with a Lauderdale Lakes, Florida address.
Based on Fort Lauderdale media reports the shooting happened near the intersection of Northwest Eighth Street and Northwest 10th Terrace.
According to Lt. DeAnna Greenlaw, a spokeswoman for the Fort Lauderdale Police Department, officers found the man unconscious on the roadway after being shot at. Police say the shooting happened around 8:20 a.m.
The male victim was then transported to Broward Health Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
It is unknown why Brown was in Statesboro.
