A broadband outage impacted Bulloch County businesses and residents Saturday, May 8 for a couple of hours. According to John Scott, Bulloch Solutions CEO the outage was related to an equipment failure of a core router that was scheduled for replacement.
The outage impacted businesses ability to process credit card transactions, phone service and other services that is tied to internet usage. Residential internet service and some phone service was interrupted.
Because Bulloch Solutions has such a large share of the market, it greatly impacts commerce in our community. Bulloch Solutions is known for their reliability and rapid, local response when there is an issue. They have invested heavily in redundant systems to keep outages down to a minimum.
Regardless, there are often factors like this that is beyond their control. They had technicians respond immediately to determine the cause of the outage and begin repairs.

I sincerely apologize to our valued customers who experienced disruptions in service today. We try to prepare our network to be fail-proof, but we all know everything breaks from time to time. Our technicians have been concerned about the core router which failed today and were trying to be proactive in scheduling the replacement. Unfortunately, we didn't get it replaced before we experienced this failure."
