THE HEROES RUN HAS BEEN POSTPONED DUE TO POTENTIALLY INCLIMENT WEATHER FROM TROPICAL STORM NICOLE
Are you a runner? Do you enjoy participating in 5K events? Well, this Saturday, November 12th, you have an opportunity to support Veterans in Bulloch County and run in the first ever Statesboro STEAM Heroes Run!
Ms. Veronica Corbett, Middle School Language Arts Teacher at Statesboro STEAM, is the brains behind this fun event. She said, “this is just a great way to get out in the community and honor our Veterans and give back!”

The Fun Run/Walk registration begins at 8:15 a.m., and the race will start at 9 a.m.. The Heroes 5K registration will begin at 9 a.m., and the race will start at 10 a.m.. You can register as an individual for $30 or a family/group of four for $110, and if you are an active duty or retired military or first responder you are eligible for a discounted rate of $25. There will also be special guest, Ray Miller in attendance at the Heroes Run.
All funds raised will be donated to a local military support center later decided upon by Statesboro STEAM Academy. Mr. Corliss Reese, Educator and Superintendent at Statesboro STEAM is eager to invite everyone in Statesboro and surrounding counties to register and run in the first ever Heroes Run. Mr. Reese stated, “we are proud to have Ms. Corbett on staff and we would like to thank her for thinking to organize this event to help the veterans in our community!”
