Squash the Spread Awards Local Businesses for COVID-19 Efforts

Squash the Spread, a group of concerned citizens organized to slow the spread of COVID-19 in Statesboro and Bulloch County, announced the May recipients of its Kindness Campaign awards.

Squash the Spread, a group of concerned citizens organized to slow the spread of COVID-19 in Statesboro and Bulloch County, announced the May recipients of its Kindness Campaign awards.

The Kindness Campaign is designed to recognize businesses and other organizations in Statesboro and Bulloch County that are actively working to promote preventive measures to reduce the spread of COVID-19.

Awardees are nominated by community members who complete a short form on the Squash the Spread website at www.squashthespread.com.  

For the month of May 2021, Squash the Spread recognized the following organizations and businesses:

  • Bulloch County NAACP - For their work in setting up programs to distribute vaccines, masks, and food to the citizens of Bulloch County. 
  • Averitt Center for the Arts Online Academy - For providing an enriching learning environment for children enrolled in virtual school programs, promoting mask use, and continued efforts to mitigate the spread of COVID-19.
  • Langston Chapel Middle School - For developing patient protocols and creating facilities aimed to mitigate the spread of COVID-19.
  • Grice Connect - For sharing information about the spread of COVID-19 in our community in a timely and factual manner.
