After Halloween season last year, Party Impressions owners Amanda Dyches and Kerri Knight quickly realized they would need more space for their wide variety of costumes and accessories in the future.
They had offered them in the regular store space but ended up having to move many of the everyday party supplies out temporarily to make room.
So this year, they have turned their existing storage space two doors down from the party store into a costume shop that will operate year-round. (The party supply store will remain open for business as usual.)

"We have a lot more costumes this year than we did last year," Dyches said. "And in accessories, we have everything from wigs to mustaches and beards to scary masks, wings, halos, and animal ears and tails."
The costume shop offers women's and men's costumes in both standard and plus sizes up to 2-3X. Children's costumes are available in sizes of 0-6 months up to 14/16. The shop has dressing rooms in which customers can try costumes on for size before purchasing.

A particularly unique offering, the shop also features an entire wall of specialty hosiery in women's standard and plus as well as some children's sizes.
Dyches said last year brought a lot of requests for Disney Princess costumes, which are now stocked and ready for customers. There are also lots of occupational costumes for kids, as well as pop culture costumes -- like Grease -- for children and adults.
Because the costume shop is open year-round, it is also perfect for the many spirit and dress-up days students and teachers participate in throughout the school-year.
If something in particular is needed and not available in the shop, the store can most likely get it. Dyches said to call the store to inquire about special orders. (About a week's notice is needed for these.)

In keeping with their efforts of bringing the Halloween spirit to the Boro, Party Impressions will also be the title sponsor of this year's Scare on the Square in downtown Statesboro.
"We heard that [Scare on the Square] was looking for a title sponsor, and we just felt like a fall family event is what we're all about," Dyches said.
