MEET DR. ALAN SCOTT

Physician and actor, C. Alan Scott, MD, was born in Kansas City, Missouri. He grew up on a farm in southern Missouri. He started acting at 3 delivering his first monologue to a full house. Alan has appeared in several high school stage productions in leading roles: MASH, Cheaper by the Dozen, Father of the Bride, Our Town, and Christmas Carol; the later as Scrooge which he continues to reprise.

He attended medical school at the University of Missouri-Kansas City and did his residency at the University of Tennessee-Memphis, appearing in both print and video promotional spots for the Elvis Presley Trauma Center.

As a supporter of the arts, he served on the board of directors for the historic Lyceum Theater in Arrow Rock, Missouri and was a benefactor. He and his wife, Krista, travel extensively and led medical culture exchange trips to Italy. There he appeared on local television promoting the physician exchange program.

Alan loves cooking, wine, and family get-togethers. He supports Children Body Rights initiatives and serves on a state opioid task force. He has appeared in multiple episodes of the television series “Untold Stories of the ER,” and those have consistently ranked among viewer favorites.

With over 1 million patient encounters throughout his career, he has seen first-hand the results of domestic violence and its many victims. He welcomes the opportunity to increase public awareness to benefit Safe Haven and those it serves. When not filming, he can be found practicing medicine in the Emergency Department at East Georgia Regional Medical Center or relaxing on the Georgia Coast.
